Q. How do I know the terminal for arrival / departure of my flight at the New Delhi airport?
A. Please refer to the table below for the terminal information of your flight.

Airline Name Departure Terminal Arrival Terminal
Air India, Air India Express, Jet Airways, Jet Konnect, Jetlite, Kingfisher Airlines, Kingfisher Red Terminal 3 Terminal 3
IndiGo Airlines, SpiceJet, Go Air Terminal 1D Terminal 1C

PLEASE NOTE: SpiceJet flights to/ from international locations will depart from/ arrive at Terminal 3. Q. When did this change happen?
A. All Air India flights have been operating from Terminal 3 since 10th November, 2010, while Kingfisher Airline and Jet Airways flights moved to Terminal 3 from 14th November, 2010. All international flights to/ from Delhi have been operating from Terminal 3 since the last week of July 2010.

Q. How far are the airport terminals from each other?
A. Terminal 1C and 1D are next to each other, within walking distance. Terminal 3 is about 9 kilometres away from Terminal 1. DIAL provides a complimentary shuttle bus service for passengers every 20 minutes between Terminal 1 and 3.

Q. What are the other important things to keep in mind while travelling from Terminal 3?
A. Terminal 3 is one of the largest and most modern airport terminals of the world. However, there are some teething troubles as typically expected at the beginning of a massive project. These will be sorted out eventually. The new terminal is expected to provide a much improved experience to people travelling from Delhi. Here’s what to expect for the next few days:
  1. Expect some traffic jams on the roads leading to Terminal 3 as the city adjusts to additional traffic getting routed to these roads. It is strongly advised to start early for the airport to make sure you reach the airport on time.
  2. The airlines recommend you reach the airport two hours prior to departure of your flight to ensure on-time departure.
  3. Please check the updated flight schedule with the airline before you start from home as some flights are likely to get delayed.
  4. If you are arriving at Terminal 1 and have to catch an onward flight from Terminal 3 (or vice versa), please collect any checked-in baggage and proceed to the catch the inter-terminal shuttle bus.
  5. Terminal 3 is much bigger in size, so expect to walk a longer distance inside the terminal from the check-in counters to the boarding gates.
  6. Your baggage may take longer to reach the baggage carousel at Terminal 3 – This is expected only for the first few days as the airlines adjust to the new facility and the baggage collection time is expected to improve once things get streamlined.
